Sociological imagination: the ability to see the relationship between one"s individual life and the larger society in which they are contextualized. - c. wright mills. Investigate beyond the taken for granted assumptions of our everyday lives to discover how these social patterns are put together. Agency: the individual ability to act by yourself to make choices and decisions, individual free will. Structure: social positions that shapes where you are in society (gender, race, wealth, etc) The goal of the sociological imagination is to see the connections between public issues and private troubles.
