We must think about society"s reaction more so than the act itself. Designates certain behaviours and actions that require social control and social intervention, codified in law (deviance that breaks a law) When we think about it, crime happens everyday, on a small scale (ie: Deviance is present in all societies, and though governments try to create consensus when it comes to what is deviant and criminal, it is subjective most times. Moral entrepreneurs:a person who influences or changes the creation or enforcement of a society"s moral codes. A lot of societies have difficulties dissociating church and state, therefore religious tendencies are apparent in law.
