Characterisics: common paterns of behaviour paricular rouines and things they do. Ex: common rouine for a mcmaster student subculture going to class, studying: arifacts that have paricular meaning to the group meaningless to those outside the subculture. Ex: textbook for mcmaster student subculture: argot language or terminology that"s unique to the subculture. Ex: using the word mac instead of mcmaster: norms list of dos and don"ts, valued for, rewarded for. Ex: academic dishonesty frowned upon at mcmaster by our subculture: ideology a package of beliefs or ideas about what you"re doing there.
