Berger and luckmann the social construction of reality (1966) How types of knowledge emerge, become significant for society. How knowledge is created by interacting individuals. Studied how science, news, and medical knowledge are socially constructed - ie are created by us. Viewed society as existing both objectively and subjectively. Eg. some things more socially constructed than others. Si and labeling theory - especially work of herbert blumer.
