Symbolic interacionism (si) variants include the chicago school, kuhn"s iowa school of thought (quantaive approach to understanding sociology. Si adopts a hegelian dialecical view of society. Processual things unfold, they take processes. Dynamic emergent aka luid we are not robots, but we have the degree of making decisions, &understanding the society in diferent ways. we can change as individual, as well as the society can change too. Emergent things are able to develop, social changes, revoluion. Role of language: focusing on roles, acions. It is not only about spoken works, it can be non-verbal forms of language. Shared meaning it is not globally shared meanings. Meanings have relevance in cultural, poliical, &social environments. We occupy diferent roles, but we can have diferent sets of meanings based on the context we apart of.
