Some of the second wave feminists were interested in this question of structural oppression we need to be aware structural oppression is not an analysis of the second wave, it has been pushed further in the third wave. Earlier forms of feminism failed to address the diversity of feminine interests none of this was addressed in the first 2 waves diversity of women"s experiences not addressed bii. A key theory developed intersectionality theory tried to deal with these different types of experiences, and backgrounds women have: contemporary feminist theory and 21st century sociology. Contemporary feminists, certainly focus on the third wave, but a number of contemporary feminists utilize ideas from the second wave. Some of these theorists have reached back to the first wave, and tried to make sure that present day sociologists are aware of what those first wave feminists did.
