Lecture 8 qualitative & quantitative data analysis (nov 2 nov 7) Outline: quantifying data, data cleaning, univariate analysis. Measures of dispersion: bivariate analysis, introduction to multivariate analysis. Quantification: converting data to a numerical format. This allows data to be recorded on a computer or some other device for storing information that can be read by a computer for analysis. Quantification requires a standard procedure for coding the raw data: a codebook.
