Is an emergent ontoology rather than a stable one fluid. # of successful, life altering advanced techs in use today. Artificial limbs, dialysis machines, regenerative tissue growth, mris, genetic engineering, lasik, organ transplants, pharma, stem cells, rejuvenation. Improved inds quality of life and lengthened lifespans. Have eased suffering and disability, inds live loner. But not necessarily in better health prolonging death. Allows inds to have greater freedom and control over won body. Can alter and enhance body in preferred ways. Equality and human rights: will lead to existence of 2 distinct types of being. If lack common humanity, discrimination and inequality likely: will exacerbating existing inequalities btwn rich and poor. Result in dystopian society based on class distinctions and ability to afford genetic modification gattaca. Category of human may come to be seen as deficient. Failed to achieve heightened level of functioning development, morality.
