Impression formation: process of creating a coherent picture of someone based on many sources of information, trait centrality, self-fulfilling prophecy, heuristics, certain traits are higher than others, can impact other traits associated with that person. Trait centrality: certain traits ranking high in our perception of a person. Impacts overall impression: also impacts how we perceive the other traits associated with the individual. Heuristics: a mental short-cut that helps us choose that appropriate schema, availability, representativeness. Attribution theory: the pro(cid:272)ess (cid:449)e use to i(cid:374)fer the (cid:272)auses of so(cid:373)eo(cid:374)e"s (cid:271)eha(cid:448)iour. Internal characteristics: ex: garfield being lazy, situational attribution, environmental factors, ex: job market really sucks which is (cid:449)h(cid:455) he"s (cid:374)ot e(cid:373)plo(cid:455)ed or that gu(cid:455) is reall(cid:455) lazy he needs to get a job.
