Bystander effect suggests people are less likely to help someone in need if there are more people standing in the area nearby. General explanations for a wide array of social behaviours in a variety of situa- tions. Provide a frame of reference for interpreting and comparing a wide range of so- cial situations and behaviours. Social psychology investigates the 5 following theoretical perspectives: Much of observable social behaviour is people carrying out their roles, similar to actors performing on a stage. According to role theory, to change a person"s behaviour, it is necessary to change or redefine his or her role.
