The difference in survey vs. experiment, you cant change what happens, experiments can be manipulated. Surveys: used for descriptive/explanatory/exploratory studies, people are the unit of analysis, respondent. A person who provides information for analysis for doing a survey: surveys get info from the small population and extrapolated out to the whole of the population without asking everyone, surveys are great for large populations. Likert scale: often posed statements in which you rate your agreement from strongly agree to strongly disagree. Canwsh study 2011: psychosomatic co-relations, used likert scale. Strengths: cheaper (sometimes, easier to generalize to broader populations. External validity is the ability to extrapolate to a: can test many hypotheses in a survey broader population.
