Come up with a hypothesis: students are highly motivated in soc psy 2k03. Theory: something to do with the motivation students have. Starts with a theory about what is out there. Could be a theory that: students are highly motivated to do well in this class. Then develop a hypothesis: students are highly motivated and they will have good study habits. It"s a way to con rm or refute a theory. We all have an idea about the way life works. Social life is out there, it is measurable and discoverable. As we interact in a classroom, we are producing and reproducing a social reality. You see things in terms of interactions but also power structures. Assumes that methods used in natural sciences can be used in social sciences.
