You can talk about differences/prejudices in an age-appropriate way: adults have the power to facilitate inclusiveness. The power of real fathers: we as a society continue to struggle with this. Fathers are different than mothers and how they interact with sons is different, too. >enthrallment or engrossment (emotional management, father/son empathetic relationships: concepts used to describe fatherly interactions with sons as they try to teach them what it means to be male. Important to observe father"s facial expression during rowdy play, teaches boys to learn skills for social situations. Emotional management is taught through this roughhouse play: child"s job is to read dad"s facial expressions and body language. This roughhousing is important in terms of teaching boys how to manage their aggression. Fathers might be doing this because, in the private sector, it"s accepted for them to be "soft" (show affection: but in the public sector, dads might feel inhibited. Fathers want to do right by the next generation.
