Italy or thailand accept certain types of activities: like men kissing each other on the cheeks as a form of greetings. In western countries, we are more so homophobic. This speaks to our cultural framework and how we see things given the way in which our society has been socially constructed. Teens say not to use the term sexual preference instead use the term sexual orientation: homosexuality is not something that we choose. The nature vs. nurture argument: gene, environment. Teens say that it is not because of: a domineering mother and a passive father, sexual molestation at a young age. Not true that individuals choose to be same sex oriented: teens say that why would anyone choose this given the prejudice and discrimination that has existed for many years. Advice to adults made by gay teens: do not be homophobic and say cruel things about homosexuals; it just makes it harder for everyone.
