An adultcentrism bias is evident when we measure children by adult standards and when we fail to suspend out assumptions about them and when we decline to see their world from their points of view. Refer back to lecture on who childhood has been socially constructed throughout history (vulnerable, need protection etc. ); this impacts how children are considered and treated. Paternalistic and protection children and youth are regarded as vulnerable, and in need of protection. Adults will feel tasked with making decisions for the children and youth for their own good and to protect wellbeing.
