Social work - mar 28 - postsecondary education. Young people from wealthier families are more likely to attend post-secondary schools. Canada has one of the highest rates pf postsecondary-education completion in the word. As of 2006, 6/10 adults (age 25-64) had completed some form of postsecondary education. In ontario, investments in student financial aid over the past 12 years have resulted in more than 150% increase in the number of students qualifying for aid. Students from low income families are still attending postsecondary at lower rates. In canada, education is a provincial responsibility (not federal) The provincial or territorial government make laws about education. Publicly funded universities are largely autonomous; they set their own admission standards and degree requirements, and have considerable flexibility in the management of their financial affairs and program offerings. The majority of funding for postsecondary education comes from the government, followed by student fees and lastly other sources like alumni donations and grants.
