Resettlement = permanent legal residency in a settlement country: is used when fundamental human rights are threatened. Refugee outside his/her country who is unable or unwilling to return to their country because of fundamental rights. Undocumented migrant come to canada temporarily. Migrant countries of origin and settlement across canada. Policies were racist, but now they have begun to change. Un convention relating to the status of refugees (1951) Universal refugee definition and principle of non-refoulemnt. Goals & expectations: recognize that they have short and long-term goals, recognize tension of being able to obtain goals.
