Additional principles; to fully understand, the fundamental principle is logic, then causality: causality is motivated by character traits (characters psychology) Films five general principles of form: function, similarity & repetition, difference & variation, development, unity/disunity. When events in the story are happening eg. chronologically: reordering creates gaps to the audience, of story and plot, will be signaled by flashbacks. Frequency= relates to the reoccurrence of story events in the plot: functions in 2 different ways, plot might foreground events that happen repeatedly. Showing only a limited number of events that are repeated. Patterns of development are used to develop narratives. Story events are reordered to produce the plot. Be aware how the plot is structured. More radical then reshaping, the more the viewer has to do.
