Alliance in action: the grandmothers to grandmothers campaign of the stephen lewis. This week we will have quiz #2 from 7:00 - 7:30 and then a guest speaker from 7:35 - 8:50. As with all guest speakers, i will not be posting an outline on our guest"s presentation. If the guest shares slides with me, i will post them for you. Our guest is teresa randles of the hamilton grandmothers of steel. She will be speaking to us about the grandmothers campaign (a response to the situation of grandmothers across sub-saharan africa caring for the children orphaned by hiv/aids). This talk is an example of feminist activism that crosses national borders (thus, transnational feminist activism) and many other borders. It is a test case where we can explore how well the canadian members of this alliance deal with the issues we have been discussing in class.
