The farmers are referred to as peasant farmers who work the farm. They get a share of the produce, and no wages. This concept is called cottage-based industry. many knitted items, they would exchange. As the industrial revolution happened, the cottage-based industry started to decrease. Today, we have attached a real meaning and value to goods made by hand. Newfoundland chocolate company (started in a man"s basement) is a home-based manufacturer.
