The guidelines are often stringent, and members can be decertiied for violations. Journalists have no such governing body, but several news organizations have published codes of journalistic ethics. The rtdna is the world"s largest professional organization devoted exclusively to electronic journalism, representing news organizations from more than 30 countries. Conduct is a statement of guiding principles for the practice of electronic journalism. Common sense and careful judgement must be applied in all cases. Professional electronic journalists should operate as trustees of the public.
