However, this story is not silent on the lives of black south africans, and i would argue that the reader is expected to notice this bedtime story cannot do justice do to their lives. Indeed, the reader notices that in the world of white south africans, black people exist only as hired help or troublesome pests. Ending of this fairy tale: apartheid involves forcibly relocating black individuals from their homes, while most whites are trying to fortify their homes against rioters who seek justice and rights.
