Document Summary
Upper limb (reading materials: chapter 7: pages 182-191; chapter 8: pages 223-228) Bones: (32 bones 64 bones in total) formed by the clavicle and scapula connect the upper limb to the axial skeleton pectoral girdle: Meets scapula at acromioclavicular joint forming pectoral girdle clavicle (collar bone): double curvature (looks like s) makes it weaker sternoclavicular joint bring pectoral girdle to axial skeleton. Synovial fluid (synovial joint) capable of some gliding movement. Only true joint joining upper limb to rest of body (only bone to bone connection) Scapula only connected to back of ribs by muscular tendons sternal end acromial end. Posterior side has prominent protrusion coming out of its body superior medial (vertebral) triangular in shape borders: Found superior aspect of scapula, defined by ridge.
