Human digestion (gi tract) is a tube within the tube of the human body wall (anything that goes in one way comes out at the end) We"re bilaterally symmetric (r and l sides roughly symmetrical) Dorsal body cavity: cranial cavity: contains the brain, vertebral canal: contains the spinal cord. Ventral body cavity: closer to the front of the body: thoracic cavity: cavity itself contains several cavities. Mediastinum: center of thoracic cavity: abdominopelvic cavity: no structure that separates the two. Organ systems: don"t need to know the details. Works together for integration and coordination of human body, so we function and act as a single unit. Works each as their own, but collectively function together for transportation of food, oxygen and waste products.
