(refer to pictures in slide lecture) This was built as a replica of a classic temple, has elements of the ancient athens. You cannot take these elements and combine them in any way. The doric order: there is a column, large rounded support, the doric capital (little piece), triglyph are the three lines on either sides of the entablature. The drawing in the middle is called the entablature, it is often a sculpture. Image: man vs. wild would build shelters, two trunks (columns) then built a triangle on top. They did this for shelter and so the design would stand out, they would use wood, stone and vines to wrap around.
