Santa maria gloriosa dei frari: you could be a painter of many subjects; not a contradiction, the way in which the figures are arranged; no longer symmetrical, the virgin is no longer center, taken the standard altarpiece and turned it, sculpturally, and are looking at it in a different angle, the virgin and child would be seemingly turned towards you, big stone columns relate to the interior of the church/ a reminder: as well as the pink marble floor shown, we just see the bases of the columns continue up beyond the edge of the frame, make it seem that they are looming over you, the virgin and child: same fleshy, strong beauty, chubby baby jesus who makes gestures, the little boy looks out towards us; the only figure, he is praying probably to st. peter, virgin looks down at peter, arms open; gesturing downwards, detail of jacopo pesaro: warm tones underneath the cooler highlights; animates and gives depth.
