This course is perceived through a darwinism perspective: we want to know the purpose of existence. Allegedly, humans only think about this and no other species does on this. Three main reasons for existence planet: to eat, too live, to mate. Humans try to convince themselves that their lives are not absurd. What are we: we are only one species among millions on this planet, approximately 30 million species on this planet. 99. 9% of species that have ever existed are extinct. Humans are about 75 seconds on a 24-hour clock: or 3 million years out of 3. 5 billion years. Another definition for this is the core elements of human well-being: good health, material needs, safety and security, good social relations. Theses are all closely related to environmental quality and sustainability of ecosystem services. Ecosystem services: supporting, cultural, provisioning, regulating. Politicians: mostly send positive messages/ messages that will resolve issues .
