There wasn"t a lot of business going on back in rome so they could get away. August-october: august part is still observed by people today, national holiday month because it is very hot and unpleasant. Beach-front locations very popular, bay of naples very common. Emperor tiberius stayed in his villa on an islands off the bay of naples. Most people need to be engaged in some kind of work.
