Lecture #16 schliemann vi: his final years october 20th. Friday, oct 23 - 2:00 to 4:00 in mac-corry b201. Monday, oct 26 - 3:30 to 5:30 in kingston 200. Tuesday, oct 27 - 5:30 to 7:30 in kingston 200. The gold was all very thin, almost paper thin. Easier to carve on them, decorate, easier to wrap the bodies in. Shows the living how rich the dead were. Animals found on gold: wasps, octopus, griffins, cats, bulls, birds. Death masks: most important things were found here. Found 5 men (but probably 1-2 females). 3 bodies had gold masks. (death masks) More gold diadems, gold strips, gold signet rings, 46 bronze swords, inlaid daggers, gold and silver pots, silver bull head with gold nose and horns, cup of king nestor , siege rhyton, etc. Also found 15 gold diadems, figurines, silver pots, When schliemann looked at these bodies in the graves, he thought that the bodies were cremated.
