First time rome has had a dictator since the punic wars. Odd because most dictatorships last only 6 months but this lasted 3 years. Anyone who supported cinna and marius became outlaws and their names and the pri(cid:272)e o(cid:374) their heads (cid:449)ere (cid:449)ritte(cid:374) o(cid:374) la(cid:449)s (cid:894)(cid:449)here (cid:449)e get (cid:862)pros(cid:272)riptio(cid:374)(cid:895) In the proscriptions, thousands of people were killed and sulla got his enemies killed: slaves of the proscribed became the slaves of sulla and he freed them so now they are freedmen who owe him everything. Dictator from 82-80: cornelius chrysogonus = a freedman of sulla, got involved with a murder case in rome in which two brothers accused their cousin of murdering his father.
