Shu and geb were sperated, therefore they could be gods because there was space between them. Athena is seen as a warrior goddess that can defeat enemies of athens, as she is depicted with nike (victory) beside her. Enuma elish poem, marduk defeated tiamat (salt water, looks like dragon)
