Mp soon created a craze and there was a time everyone wanted to watch her (moved to one hour films) 1913, mp left and went to adolph zukor (featured as tess of the storm. Fairbanks, and d. w. griffith: created a power no other woman had in film, act, produce, and distribute her own films, 1910-1920 (most well known woman) Made 4 talking films (won an oscar) Last 30 years of her life were marked by depression and alcoholism. Known as an icon of female independence and trigger for the culture of celebrity we live in.
