From reel to real: film language, realism, & the world. Updates on what we will be looking at this term: the ways that cinema are portrayed fictionally and in a mainstream way, violence in the films we will be seeing: Graphic violence: a reporter is interviewing kim jon un & assassinated him, controversy: North korea said that if the film was released, they would start war with america. They would bomb theatres in the us. The film was only released in independent theatres. There was controversy as if it as a publicity stunt for sony: comedy, action, political thriller, supposed to be made for entertainment becomes a huge political issue. Film: think about your feelings and how they can be turned into an opinion and later an argument, one that is about the world and about cinema. Will be different than those last term.
