We will be visiting elements that we"ve been touching on around social media & communications part of this course. We started w black & white cinema, accompanied by live piano music. Later the screens became larger, movies were talkies, & people from all classes enjoyed. Common theme: interplay or relationship between how we use screens. & what happens in the historical world in which the screen exists. A pro-democracy activist nacha kong-udom was arrested in bangkok while flashing the three-finger salute from the hunger games. We were informed in the news within a couple of days of this event of: Hacker claiming ties to anonymous forces toronto police website offline for hours . In a nutshell, it is the name of a loose group of computer hackers that use their skills to engage in political actions. Their identifying image is the mask from v for vendetta.
