Formed by the accumulation and rechrystalisation of snow. The pressure of the now above it needs to be enough that it puts pressure on the bottom layer making it sort of plastic that forces it to move. The snow line decreases (i. e. mor snow accumulates) as we get nearer to the poles. These are like streams of flowing ice. Nunatak - mountains located within an alpine glacier. Zone of fracture - has cracks. the upper part is quite britte. Zone of accumulation - the region where more ice is accumulated than lost. Zone of wastage - losing more ice than is being produced. The space between the two zones is called the snow line. Label all the large cracks ion the diagram as crevasses. Cirque - main region of accumulation of ice. Bergschrund - fracture between the mountain and glacier where if one falls down into it, there is rock on one side and side on another.
