Water as a resource: drinking, hydroelectric power, hazard: flooding. Paracelsus: all substances are poison, there is none which is not a poison. The right dose differentiates a poison from a remedy. Hydrogen sulphide: important role in reducing blood pressure. Malarial mosquito: ddt to reduce malaria risks so ddt is both a hazard and a resource. Pollution: very notion of pollution is culturally dependent. Over time there may be changes in human tolerance and sensitivity to the hazard.
