What are human rights: a right or series of rights that every person inherently possess, derived and reinforced through a variety of methods, many different categories of rights. Ethics: moral pri(cid:374)(cid:272)iples that go(cid:448)er(cid:374) a perso(cid:374)(cid:859)s (cid:271)eha(cid:448)iour. Human rights as a metaphor: the west did not create human rights movement in order to save or civilize non- Lack of recognition: west does not recognize human rights activists who are from the south or east or do not work for eurocentric organizations, etc. Currently base on equality, not equity (see box metaphor) Health to human rights: earl(cid:455) (cid:1005)99(cid:1004)(cid:859)s there (cid:449)as a (cid:373)ovement to ban female genital cuttings, used human rights framework to justify interventions, makes foreign women seem like victims of the practice, even if it was their own decision. Film: slaves to the beautiful game: setting: qatar, controversial venue for world cup in 2022, despite intense heat, people die while constructing the stadiums.
