Happiness is socially conditioned and constructed, we are given ideas about what is supposed to make us happy. Getting married, having a lot of money, reaching academic success, having children, etc. There are social moments that we can unpack to break down happiness (friends being angry because one is more happy, paying for happiness through medication, etc. ) Happiness is thought to be at stake these days. Ahmed"s book has five details of analysis, these categories are: Sarah ahmed: the feminist killjoy, the unhappy queer, the angry black woman, the melancholic migrant. Ahmed, in 2016, resigned from her university job in protest of the sexual harassment of students. When she talks about the problem of sexual harassment, she talks about it being normalized.
