Leagues - action francaise, croix de feu, jacques doriot and the p. p. f (parti populaire francais) Action francaise and croix de feu - traditionalists, wanted a return to monarch/respect to traditional authority. Newer leagues were more clearly fascists - did not call for an elite, but rather for the abolishment of all elite traditional institutions for a new authoritarian group. Jacques doriot and the p. p. f (parti populaire francais) - group to be mil in size. Wanted to show their presence on the streets as well. All groups got together to plan demonstration against liberal govt republic (radicals) Called for counter mobilization from leftists, socialist and communists b/c did not want to lose control of the streets to the right wing. Police had to set up barricades because would fight each other. Right-wing demonstrators tried to fight the leftist, but police stopped them 15 died,
