HIST 211 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Ich Bin Ein Berliner, Berlin Wall, Nikita Khrushchev
Document Summary
Module vi: the berlin wall as a cold war milestone. By the 1960s the cold war had expanded into a global wide conflict and brought the world to the brink of nuclear annihilation which would turn this "cold war", hot. This module will be a reflection and review of the milestones, topics and themes discussed in the last module. It will also focus on one new milestone that came about at this time, the berlin wall. While going through this module and the sources remember to ask yourself questions. Think about how the choices and strategies adopted by policy makers in response to particular conflicts affected the range of options available to them in response to the conflicts and crises that followed. How were cold war conflicts shaped by particular personalities. Look for comparisons and contrasts among figures like; roosevelt, truman, kennedy, churchill, stalin, Uncertainness was also a key factor in the cold war.
