Recognize the importance of individual contributions to injury/diseases, but greater interest in learning how to alleviate hazards by addressing underlying causes (upstream) Public health: what we do as a society collectively to assure the conditions in which people can be healthy (e. g. vaccines, sewage treatment) E. coli contaminated water lead to 7 deaths & 2500 people with long term illnesses. Incompetent manager & staff at walkerton public utilities commission. No provincial regulation & lack of regulation enforcement.
