Peru later had a rural group called the shining path. Food and culture, potato was originated in peru. other native foods are avocado, quinoa, yucca and asparagus. Asparagus wasn"t native but it was a big part of their diet. Ceviche, raw fish and lemon mix, acid kills bacteria and makes the fish edible, served with spices and onion. Cuy, roasted guinea pig, barbecued on a spit and is one of their staple foods, not a household pet in peru. Antichuchos, served in a variety of settings, street meat or in restaurants, made with beef heart traditionally.
