Jaspers lecture 18: ambiguous philosophical technical term, is not general, unique, a possibility, transcendent way of being. Not a state of mind that you can"t stably maintain. Like authenticity: free involves the will, a way of being human, hard to see the difference from authentic existence, source of individuality. If you become an individual: our existence is entrusted to us as the arena for the realization of our origin, breaking through worldly being, breaking through convention and everyday life. Not just leaving convention behind completely: the unconditioned is a strong commitment. Guided by the unconditioned directs itself form its origin: no moral ideal. Trying to be ourself: brought up against my own personal limits. The normal modes that i exist as. Transcendence: the world is not all there is, we are speaking of the world beyond the material, being itself beyond objectivity, need philosophy to begin to speak of transcendence. Often some try to transform transcendence is an object.
