The purpose of the muscles is to provide force and motion. Muscles are connected to the bones with tendons. In the body, there are about 650 skeletal muscles. All of the muscles are involuntary, except skeletal. Cardiac muscles are found in the heart, its job is to make the heart beat. Smooth muscles are in the bladder, when relieved the bladder is closed. Smooth muscles are also in your eyes; they give the ability to be focused. When digesting food, the digestive system"s muscles tighten and relax as the food goes through. About 40% of our weight is taken up by muscles. For us to smile, it uses 17 muscles. To get a movement done correctly, you practise it over and over again, that"s muscles memory. The smallest muscles are found in the ear, the tensor tympani and the stapedius.
