Nationalism: democracy requires the opposition to be protected, when this is done right people develop democratic attitudes and , develop pro-systemic attitudes. For these attitudes to work properly there needs to be positive attitudes towards democracy in the first place. By interacting with other people you develop positive attitude= less likely that you would demonize other people. Argued that it was created artificially by bureaucrats to make things more efficient economically . Taught in school that europe was the best. According to haas there is a top/down process . These theries indicate that democracy can emerge as a result of interaction (1) and authority (2)
