Document Summary
The wavelength of light depends on the psychological property of colour. Light that is visible to humans has wavelengths that range from 400-700 nanometers: amplitude/intensity: amplitude is the height of each wave. Intensity corresponds to the psychological property of brightness. The higher amplitude waves are perceived as brighter. Physical characteristics and psychological properties: wavelength (physical) relates to colour (psychological, amplitude (physical) relates to brightness (psychological) Gross anatomy of the eye: cornea: transparent covering of the eye. It is responsible for bringing light into eye and acts as a lens to focus light. Since the shape of the cornea can"t really change, only one focus is possible: pupil: the opening in the middle of your iris that admits light allowing it to hit the back of the eye (retina). The iris changes size to increase or decrease the amount of light entering the eye: lens: transparent structure located behind the pupil. It changes its shape through the action of muscles.
