Document Summary

Psychology lecture week 9: sensation and perception: the visual system. Visual sensation: the perceptual experience of seeing. (the brightness of light changes depending on the amplitude, while the color of a light changes depending on the wavelength) Iris: your iris is the colored part of your eye that surrounds the black pupil in the center. Pupil: the aperture or opening in the center of your eye that looks like a big black dot. Dilating pupils are a very subtle sign that you are interested, lying, or pretending or just trying to see in poor lighting. Cornea: the transparent part of the eye that covers the front portion of the eye. It covers the pupil (the opening at the center of the eye), iris (the colored part of the eye), and anterior chamber (the fluid-filled inside of the eye). Limbus: the marginal region of the cornea of the eye by which it is continuous with the sclera.
