Describe the ways in which drugs can alter synaptic transmission. Describe the neurotransmitters (amines, amino acids and peptides, and members of these families) and their functional roles. This week"s topics are concerned with how the nervous system generates behaviour. Originally, this sub-discipline of psychology was called physiological psychology or biopsychology. Now this general area of research is called neuroscience to better reflect its multidisciplinary nature.
