Descriptive statistics:
- Proportion for categorical
- Mean, median for numerical data
- Standard deviation, quartile, interquartile range
- Effect size (differences, ratios)
Graphing
- Frequency tables and bar graphs
- Histograms and box plots – when you have numerical data
- Scatter and line plots – when you have two pieces of data
- Graphing
When plotting and counting data record it in counts (raw data) not percentages
Marginal – summarizing rows and columns in each of the cells
Conditional can be rows or columns
Whisker goes on the last data point
Multiply IQR by 1.5, go down from the 1st quartile by 1.5
