Paraphilias: unusual sexual attractions to inappropriate people such as children or objects. Often have more than one paraphilic pattern. Often comorbid with mood, anxiety, or substance abuse disorders. Rare in women but 5-10% of sexual offenders are women. Frotteuristic disorder: occurs in a large city, typically crowded subway or bus: males rub up against women until stimulated to ejaculation. Voyeurism: observing an unsuspecting individual undressing or naked in order to become aroused. Exhibitionism: sexual arousal and gratification by exposing genitals to unsuspecting strangers: thrill from the risk. Transvestic fetishism: sexual arousal associated with the act of dressing in clothes of the opposite sex, or cross-dressing. Sexual sadism: associated with inflicting pain or humiliation: sadistic rape: most rapists do not fit into profile of paraphilia but those who dare described as sadists.
